  18. There is a small time window in Afd.sys (the Microsoft Winsock2 service
  19. provider for TDI transport) where it would not indicate data received
  20. immediately after connection was accepted. This window should affect only
  21. applications that use AcceptEx with buffer space for receiving data after
  22. connection is accepted.
  23.  
  24. CAUSE
  25. =====
  26.  
  27. In TCP/IP, timewait state queue management had a problem that caused time
  28. wait states to exceed four minutes under stress.
  29.  
  30. RESOLUTION
  31. ==========
  32.  
  33. To resolve this problem, obtain the following fix or wait for the next
  34. Windows NT service pack.

  54. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0.
  55. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested
  56. and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.

  58. recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
